Actress Scarlett Johansson says she auditioned for the Oscar-nominated film "Les Miserables" but lost out to Anne Hathaway.
Johansson, 28, said she "sang her heart" out in the audition of the director Tom Hooper's musical drama, reported the Huffington Post. "Looking at the film now, there's no possible way I ever could have topped that performance (by Anne Hathaway).
It was perfect and I think fateful and meant to be," Johansson said. Johansson lost the role when she was struck down with laryngitis before the crucial audition. For the role of Fantine, actresses Johansson, Lea Michele, Taylor Swift and Evan Rachel Wood were lined up.u00a0
