The book is due for July release and will be accompanied by an audiobook recorded by the singer himself.
"Why are we not doing more? This is a question I have thought deeply about, and wish to answeru00a0- and to help change - by writing this book... This is a disease that must be cured not by a miraculous vaccine, but by changing hearts and minds," the guardian.co.uk quoted the 64-year-old as saying.
John will also share his experience of losing friends -including Freddie Mercury, who died of an Aids-related illness in 1991 and the teenage activist Ryan White- in the book. Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the Elton John's AIDS Foundation.
