The American superhero film starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone was well received by the Indian audience, which re-established the fact that the sheer exhilarating spectacle of Spider-Man launched again through the city is still great.

'Iron Man 3' that released last week takes the second position with a weekend collection of 30 crores. The standout performances by Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow coupled with spectacular action sequences alone seem to be doing the trick.

The twenty third Bond saga 'Skyfall', starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and Naomi Harris, was considered a substantial bounce back. The film is by far the third highest weekend grosser with a collection of 27.5 crores in India.
Christopher Nolan's epic superhero saga 'The Dark Knight Rises' takes the fourth position with 25 crores in first weekend. The third instalment of the Batman franchise impressed the movie goers with its magnanimous set pieces and techno razzle-dazzle.
Tom Cruise starrer 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol' takes fifth position with a collection of 24 crores. Characterised by a good pace and jaw-dropping action, the fourth instalment of this action franchise managed to send an adreline rush down the fans.
The epic sci-fi 'Avatar' from 2009 took the viewers to a spectacular new world beyond their imagination. The film managed to rake in 22 crores in the first weekend. In 2011, 'Pirates Of The Caribbean - On Stranger Tides' managed to rake in the same amount with its fantasy adventure.

American sci-fi disaster film '2012' garnered enough popularity among the Indian masses with its visual thrills. The film collected 21 crores in its opening weekend.
Laced with more characters and plotlines, the action sequences in 'Spider-Man 3' took the cherry on the cake. Spider-mania took the movie to an opening collection of 19.17 crores in the first weekend.
Superhero film 'The Avengers' and romantic disaster film 'Titanic 3D', both released in 2012, take the same position on the chart with a collection of 18 crores in first weekend.
