Days after Vietnam banned Warner Bros` much-anticipated `Barbie` movie over a scene that depicts a map of the South China Sea with the contested “nine-dash line”, the Philippines is now weighing whether to follow suit.

Days after Vietnam banned Warner Bros` much-anticipated `Barbie` movie over a scene that depicts a map of the South China Sea with the contested “nine-dash line”, the Philippines is now weighing whether to follow suit.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board of the Philippines recently posted a notice to its website that read: "We confirm that the Board has reviewed the film Barbie today, 04 July 2023. At this time, the assigned Committee on First Review is deliberating on the request of Warner Brothers F.E. Inc. for a Permit to Exhibit."
