Penelope Cruz has transformed into a blonde bombshell for her role in the upcoming drama Los Abrazos Rotos.<br /><br />Director Pedro Almodovar was determined to do away with the Spanish actress' trademark dark and dishevelled hairstyle for the film after seeing it was the look she wore in Woody Allen's comedy Vicky Cristina Barcelona.<br /><br />

I really enjoy reinventing her, discovering the number of characters that reside within our beautiful and versatile leading lady."
