Los Angeles: Actor Matt Damon says he was offered his best friend and actor-filmmaker Ben Affleck's role in "Daredevil" first.

The actors have been best friends since their childhood days and rose to stardom together after writing and appearing in "Good Will Hunting". Damon says he "chickened out" Affleck's role 2003 comic-book movie.
