Weeks after his demise, actor Courteney Cox who played Monica Geller on the show, took to her Instagram handle to share a post for him. "I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day," she wrote sharing a scene of Monica and Chandler's first night together in London. Until that point on the show, the two were just friends who lived across the hall from each other. But their equation changes after they sleep together in a hotel room in London where they arrive for Ross's wedding. Monica and Chandler's character eventually fall in love and get married and have twins.
Monica further shared the story behind the Monica and Chandler's London night and how the reaction from the live audience changed the fate of their characters. "When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favorites," she said.
Cox further wrote, "To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind."

Actor Matt LeBlanc also penned a note for his 'friend' Matthew Perry on social media along with pictures from the show Friends. LeBlanc essayed the role of Joey Tribbiani, Chandler's roommate and best friend. Matt wrote, "Matthew, It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among my favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me."
