In the film, Spacey will portray Beverly Hills high-roller Ron Levin while Elgort will play financial genius Joe Hunt and Egerton will essay the role of tennis pro Dean Karny, reports a website.
The film will follow the true story of the rise and fall of Hunt and Karny, who ran a Ponzi scheme called the Billionaire Boys Club which collapsed when Levin's investment turned out to be worthless.
Hunt turned to crime to raise funds and was convicted in 1987 of killing Levin. Karny served as the state's witness in the trial.
