A new survey sheds light on the impact that Covid-19 has had on the entertainment industry, as per a report in The Hollywood Reporter. Of the 7,163 people surveyed for the study, 76 per cent reported loss of income, 62 per cent lost party-time or gig employment, 50 per cent lost full-time jobs in entertainment, and 22 per cent said they do not know when they will return to work.

The study found that of the surveyed BIPOC (black, Indigenous and people of colour) respondents, about a third were likely to experience food insecurity, housing changes, increased debt and changed utility usage as compared to white respondents.

More than half of the respondents sought emergency financial assistance, followed by health insurance aid, financial education, counselling/mental health services, housing workshops, seniors services and housing.
