Unlike other Dixon-numbers (Every little part of me) that grab your attention from the word go, this one takes a while to gain your interest, and you might find yourself listening to the song more than once before being drawn to it.

Six years after she released her last musical offering, Do it for love, Alisha Dixon treated fans to a fresh track, War, over the weekend. Unlike other Dixon-numbers (Every little part of me) that grab your attention from the word go, this one takes a while to gain your interest, and you might find yourself listening to the song more than once before being drawn to it.
 
Dixon, 42, is supported by a backing score that is every bit dance-worthy. However, neither her vocals, nor the lyrics seem to pack in the punch that the beats do. It kicks off with tunes that feel rather commonplace, however, it does offer a peppy summer score that could find takers in music aficionados gradually returning to partying as restrictions ease.
