Johnny Depp's character, Jack Sparrow, is now a symbol of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Starting as a film based on a Disneyland ride, the series has expanded into five movies, earning around $4.5 billion at the box office.

With a sixth movie in the works as a reboot, there's a lot of talk about whether Depp will be part of it.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently talked to Entertainment Tonight about the rumours of Johnny Depp's return to Pirates of the Caribbean. He praised Depp and said he'd love to see him back in the series, but didn't confirm if it will actually happen. "If it was up to me, of course. I love having Depp... He's a great actor and good friend... I've certainly spoken to him, but we'll see what happens," Bruckheimer said leaving fans hopeful.

Since the first movie, 'Curse of the Black Pearl,' in 2003, Johnny Depp's role as Jack Sparrow has been key to the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. His charming and quirky performance made him the main face of the franchise, appearing in all the posters, trailers, and promotions. However, due to recent controversies and changes in the film series, Depp's role might be smaller in the future.

The highly publicized defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has affected both their careers, leading Disney to consider distancing itself from the controversy. Although Depp won the case, the family-friendly studio might still prefer to play it safe.

About Johnny Depp recently

Recently, Johnny Depp shared his experience of being part of 'Jeanne du Barry' and said he felt "strangely, oddly, perversely lucky" to have been offered the role of French King Louis XV at the U.K. premiere of his film, reported Variety. '

"I feel very lucky to have been [offered the role] - strangely, oddly, perversely lucky," he said on stage in London during a rare public appearance. "Because when Maiwenn and I first actually met and talked about the notion of me doing the film and playing Louis XV, the King of France -- see that's when instantly what happens in your brain is you instantly go back to Kentucky, where, like, everything is fried. So you realise that you've come from the bellybutton of nowhere and suddenly you end up playing the King of France."

"It made no sense to me, I tried to talk her out of it," he continued. "But she wasn't hearing it and she had great courage to take me into her cast. Whatever we did, whatever we experienced I think and I hope you'll find it was well worth the agony of this kid trying to make a film for that length of time."
