A well-known Hollywood talent agency is tying up with an Indian agency to further collaborations between the two film industries In what will prove to be a major fillip to collaborations between Bollywood and Hollywood, sources indicate that a large talent management agency from Bollywood has cracked a deal with the Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency (CAA). <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2012/feb/indiana-jones.jpg" border="5" /> The Hollywood agency manages the careers of many A-listers like Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg. The Indian agency in question KWAN represents the interests of Deepika Padukone, Freida Pinto, among others. According to sources, CAA, which has so far offices in LA, London and Beijing, was looking for an opening in Mumbai so as to collaborate in Bollywood films. The Indian agency had reportedly been in talks with CAA for the last eight months, and this deal will prove to have a major impact and influence in India's hitherto-nebulous association with Hollywood. KWAN's founding member Madhu Mantena was reportedly stationed in LA for the last two weeks working out the deal. Although not declared officially, sources indicate that CAA will soon start functioning in Mumbai with KWAN as its partner. Already plans are afoot to get Steven Spielberg to shoot his next Indiana Jones film in India. If this plan gets the go ahead, a number of Bollywood actors are likely to be approached for the film. According to a source, "For Hollywood, so far Bollywood has been a tenuous and ambiguous area of entertainment-related activities. We've had numerous supposed tie-ups between Indian filmmakers and stars with those in Hollywood, which eventually fizzled out. u00a0 For the first time, Hollywood A-listers will actually be in direct contact with Bollywood.u00a0 Collaborations between the two will now be done in an organised rather than sporadic fizzled-out attempts." Both Mantena and KWAN's Managing Director Anirban Das Blah remained unavailable for comment.
