BTS leader Kim Namjoon has spoken openly about his military duty, his group members, and how he wants to be remembered by his fans. Namjoon, alias RM, spoke with Harper's Bazaar Korea on the similarities between his childhood dreams and adult ones. When asked if he has ever been surprised by himself, Namjoon answered that he feels "most impressive when a song turns out well, I was like this when I was a kid."
Namjoon described himself as a "attention seeker" while discussing the connections between his childhood fantasies and his current ones. He said, "I like to be in the spotlight. That is the same. I don't believe being an attention seeker is a bad thing. My childhood nickname was Talk Box. I used to find intriguing news on the internet and share them with my pals. I also enjoyed public speaking. I absolutely enjoyed delivering presentations. I enjoyed making people laugh. I used to want to be a comic. So my yearning for attention is very similar."
When asked how he wanted to be remembered by BTS fans, Namjoon said, "As someone who feels like a real person." "It's been twelve years since my debut. I used to be thought of as cute, cool, and intellectual. But I no longer have such desires. Just someone who moves at their own pace and direction. I think it's difficult to do these days. I want to be at least one person who travels at my own pace and direction, and I hope I can demonstrate it effectively. I hope it naturally brings comfort..."I will do my best, and I hope you will see me in a positive light," he said.
