You are facing the camera for the first time. How was the preparation?
I was nervous when I went for the first cut because my entry was quite unexpected in the film industry. After many takes and cuts, I gave in my best. You won't believe this, but I was very confident during my dialogue delivery.

Newcomers usually prefer to act with young, good-looking actors, but you didn't take that route. Why?
I don't believe in it because an artiste should not have any kind of favourites when it comes to other artistes. We can always learn something from experienced actors and at the end it works out to be quite profitable for upcoming actors like us. Working with Balaraj and other senior artistes has been quite an experience and I have learnt a lot from him.
Is this film the right launch pad?u00a0u00a0u00a0
Mannina Madilu is a story in a village and it has a significant message for the youth who migrate to the city for a job. I am playing the daughter of a village opinion leader. The girl is rather naive and I think it will give me a good platform to show my talent. So far, I have got good publicity. Local talent doesn't get enough encouragement in the Kannada industry and many directors and producers give first preference to Mumbai artistes.

Some politicians were guests at the audio release function. Did it make you uncomfortable?
The event started very late, but there were a lot of movie buffsu00a0 who had come to enjoy the entertainment programme, which we missed at the audio release. Many politicians are interested in making Kannada films and so they are all very important to the Kannada film industry.
Many good-looking girls concentrate more on glamour rather than acting. Where do you fit in?
Talent adds to glamour, but only glamour or showing skin does not work on the screen. Both talent and glamour are essential.
Do you pay a lot of attention to dieting and exercise?
I am into aerobics and yoga, but I simply love eat ing junk food and chaat. I'm also crazy about caramel chocolate.
If you would like to date one Sandalwood star, who would it be?u00a0
(Laughs) I am only 17 years old and I don't think about dating at all right now. But if I had to, I would like to date Darshan, because I have seen his movies many times and I like his acting and dialogue delivery.
