"Our film, titled 'Headline', talks about hazardous effects of excessive social networking on today's youth," said Aarti Jadhav, co-producer of the film. "The use of social media is increasing among youth as means of entertainment and communication.
Social networking sites have grown exponentially in recent years. "Facebook and WhatsApp are household names and we can see how teenagers around us are glued to their mobiles and laptops," Jadhav said.
Jadhav feels that parents should be aware of the nature of social media sites. "As if parents did not already have enough to worry about, rave parties are being advertised using social networking sites.
Parents need to be aware of the nature of social media sites, as not all of them are healthy environment for children," she said. 'Headline' is based on this issue and portrays how parents and police are baffled seeing teenagers caught in a rave party.
Ajinkya Jadhav and Nikhil Wairagar, young actors from Pune, are making their debut with this movie, she said. The star cast includes Prasad Oak, Shashwati Pimplikar (from 'Balak Palak'), Puja pawar and Vandana Vaknis. The movie has been shot extensively in Lavasa and Pancard Club in Pune.
