AR Rahman composed the music for Aishwarya Rajinikanth's upcoming movie 'Lal Salaam'. The film also stars Rajinikanth in an extended cameo. The musician's speech from the recent audio launch event is now going viral on social media. In his speech, he said that he was initially skeptical about the film being too preachy and boring. However, he was surprised after watching the film.

“When Aishwarya first told me the story of the film… I thought ‘This film is going to be boring da’. I thought it would be preachy. Until I saw the film… The scenes that I thought would be cringy and preachy were handled very thoughtfully and were heartwarming. I then asked her who wrote dialogues for the movie, and she said, ‘I wrote and Appa changed a bit.’ I realised it was his wisdom. Because he respects everything, he has researched well and has said many rare things,” he said.

Talking about Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Rahman said, “Daughter of the superstar. It is very very difficult to be his daughter. I understand what you are going through. Whatever you do, you face criticism. You get criticised for dancing, making films, wearing certain clothes… despite all that you have proved yourself.”

The audio launch of Aishwarya Rajinikanth's comeback directorial 'Lal Salaam' took place at a private college in Chennai on January 26.At the audio launch, Aishwarya also revealed that it was initially difficult to mount this project as many producers didn't come forward to bankroll it. She also revealed that she did not consider asking her father to be a part of the project.

She said, "When my father heard the script, he asked me if he could do Moideen Bhai's role. I was hesitant initially. I thought, me being his daughter, I still had no right to tarnish his legacy. I never thought about him for the role until he himself suggested
