Rajinikanth addresses drinking problem, wanting to get rid of superstar tag

Jailer Audio Launch: Rajinikanth spoke his heart out about his drinking habit, the superstar tag, and the abuse his director Nelson got after `Beast` release

Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia`s upcoming film `Jailer` is all set to hit the theatres on August 11. The film`s makers recently organised a grand audio launch event in Chennai. Apart from the superstar and Tamannaah, the launch was also attended by director Nelson Dilipkumar and music director Anirudh Ravichander.  At the launch, the superstar was seen in a candid mood and addressed several topics.

At the audio launch, Rajinikanth spoke about his tryst with alcoholism. "If there was no alcohol in my life, I would have served the society. Alcoholism is the biggest mistake in life,” he was quoted as saying. Recollecting an incident that happened two years ago, he said, "I once came home drunk at 2 in the night after a successful staging of a play and my brother advised me to only drink to celebrate and not make it a habit". He also said that he would have become a bigger and better star if not for alcoholism.
