Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that Vijay Deverakonda was not his first choice for his debut Telugu film 'Arjun Reddy'

Vijay Deverakonda in Arjun Reddy
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is a filmmaker who has been making headlines ever since the release of his film 'Animal' starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. Before 'Animal;, the filmmaker had made noise for his debut film 'Arjun Reddy' and its Hindi remake, 'Kabir Singh'. His debut film 'Arjun Reddy' had Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. With the success of 'Arjun Reddy', Vijay shot to fame and earned a name across the country. However, turns out Vijay was not the director's first choice for the film.
In an interview recently, Vanga revealed that he had narrated a story to Allu Arjun in 2011. However, the film never went on floors. He later wanted to approach Allu Arjun for 'Arjun Reddy' but never got the chance. “I couldn’t get to him and meet him again. The script went to multiple producers and actors after that. Finally, I decided to produce it myself. A friend introduced me to Vijay, and we started shooting a couple of weeks later. So yes, I wanted Allu Arjun in my debut film," said Sandeep talking to India Today.
