Tamil filmmaker S Shankar took time off his film commitments, including prepping for the remake of 'Anniyan' (2005) with Ranveer Singh, for the wedding celebrations of his daughter, Aishwarya in Mahabalipuram. On Sunday, Aishwarya Shankar tied the knot with cricketer Rohit Damodharan, who plays for Madurai Panthers in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

On the work front, Shankar will be directing Ranveer Singh in the official adaptation of his 2005 Tamil blockbuster 'Anniyan', which stars Vikram. The film is slated to go on the floors in Mid 2022. The yet-untitled project was announced around the auspicious time of Baisakhi in North India and Puthandu in Tamil Nadu, which marks the New Year celebrations in these respective calendars
