Tamil filmmaker S Shankar took time off his film commitments, including prepping for the remake of 'Anniyan' (2005) with Ranveer Singh, for the wedding celebrations of his daughter, Aishwarya in Mahabalipuram. On Sunday, Aishwarya Shankar tied the knot with cricketer Rohit Damodharan, who plays for Madurai Panthers in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin was in attendance. Shankar shared a thank you note to the honourable chief minister on Twitter. "My heartfelt thanks & gratitude to our Hon.Chief Minister @mkstalin for his precious time to grace us with his warm&loving presence at my daughter’s wedding & making it a memorable blessing. Thanks to Health Minister @Subramanian_ma &MLA @Udhaystalin for blessing the couple ???," the filmmaker tweeted.
