Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi

Varun Tej famously met Lavanya Tripathi on the sets of Mister in 2017. The couple soon flitted off to Italy in November of 2023 to get married in the most picturesque of locations: Italy. So, when Valentine's Day rolls around for a newly married couple, the first question on everyone's mind is, 'What did they do for Valentine's Day?'. Varun Tej reveals he did not gift Lavanya Tripathi anything for Valentine's Day

Varun, who is currently promoting his upcoming project, 'Operation Valentine', revealed that he did not get Lavanya anything for Valentine's Day. While conversing with the anchor Suma, he mentioned, "I didn’t get her (Lavanya) any gifts; she didn’t gift me anything either. When I was in college, I used to bother doing that. I got a lot of gifts for a lot of people. But now, it’s different. We went to Kashmir for a short vacation instead.”

Talking about why he chose to get married in Italy, he said, "It took me seven years to get married (after I met her) and I wanted my family to have fun. Usually, 4000 to 10,000 people are invited to weddings in my family, but we invited only 100. It was important to me that my family had fun so I took them all abroad.”

Varun Tej reveals insights about his character in 'Operation Valentine'

Actor Varun Tej has shared insights into his character as an Air Force fighter pilot in the movie 'Operation Valentine', and said that roles like these are not easy, revealing the homework he did to bring realism.

Reflecting on the challenges of portraying such a unique character, Varun remarked, "Roles like these are not easy, and it's not like you are experienced or you see people from the Air Force in your day-to-day life. There was some homework that we did. We had a person from IAF who was working with us from the time the script was being made because we wanted to make a film that IAF is proud of also."

Speaking about the importance of authenticity in his portrayal, Varun emphasized, "Even after that, we had a couple of IAF people also on the sets, who tried to correct us, our body language, and obviously we met a lot of fighter pilots, engaged in conversation with them, and got to know a lot about their missions, training, and their day-to-day life to understand. It's very important to bring some realism to your character, especially when it's a film like this, but if you’re adorning real heroes of our country you really need to act right."
