Vijay and Rashmika`s story started on the sets of the Telugu hit Geetha Govindam in 2018, where they starred together. Their infectious on-screen chemistry sparked dating rumours right there.

The pair later reunited for Dear Comrade in 2019, where their intense bond and chemistry further fueled fan speculation. It is believed that Vijay helped Rashmika get over her break-up and failed engagement with Rakshit Shetty.

In 2022, Liger stars Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda appeared on Koffee with Karan. During the episode, Ananya was asked about Vijay`s relationship status to which she joked, "I feel like he is in a Rash (rush) to meet Mika sync. Get it?" Ananya`s comment hinted that their relationship rumours may be true.

In 2023, during the promotion of Animal, her co-star Ranbir Kapoor playfully teased Rashmika Mandanna by urging her to call Vijay Deverakonda live on stage. She dialled his number to which he immediately answered and said, “What’s up, re?” Rashmika blushed and said, "You`re on speaker and everyone`s listening." This moment subtly confirmed their bond.

In the following years, they continued to fuel rumours with thier appearances and secret vacations together. Although they did not post pictures together, fans noticed the similar locations and backgrounds in thier separate posts. 

By 2024, both Vijay and Rashmika had admitted they were not single. However, they did not reveal names. 

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna served as Grand Marshals at the 43rd India Day Parade in New York City, celebrating India`s 79th Independence Day on August 17, 2025. Their chemistry at the event was unmissable.

Soon reports emerged that the couple secretly got engaged at Vijay`s residence in Hyderabad on October 3, 2025, in the presence of their family. 

Following rumours of engagement, Rashmika Mandanna was spotted flaunting her engagement ring, without confirming any details.

At the success event of Rashmika’s film, The Girlfriend, in Hyderabad, Vijay made a rare public appearance to support her. During the event, he surprisingly kissed her hand, which further confirmed their relationship. However, they still had not confirmed anything.

Then came the official confirmation on February 22, when they confirmed their relationship and their wedding amiod growing speculations.

The couple is now set to tie the knot in a grant yet intimate wedding, involving two ceremonies in Udaipur on February 26.
