A month after quitting 'Jamai Raja', Isha Sharmaa returns to the show with a meatier role and fatter pay cheque

It was too tempting an offer to reject. Isha Sharmaa, who quit Ashvini Yardi’s 'Jamai Raja' last month after it took a time leap and her character, Kritika, lost its spark, has returned to the daily soap. The makers were apparently able to lure her back with the promise to give her more prominence in the show and a bigger pay cheque with that.

Isha had amicably ended her contract with the makers and exited the show, says a source, adding, “But the production house asked her to come back. After negotiating a better remuneration and an interesting character, Isha agreed to their request.”

Now we hear, the actress has already begun shooting for the show. When we contacted her, she confirmed the story and said, “I had a great time on the show, but when I realised that my character was going nowhere, I asked them to let me go and luckily, they allowed me to leave without any hassles or issues. Now that they have asked me to come back, I was clear about the fact that my character should have a goal, and they have given me that. Of course, the contract has been renegotiated. Had I continued working with them, it would have been 18 months now. So, it’s quite normal for them to give me a hike after a year.”
During her break from daily soaps, Isha did a few episodics and is rumoured to have signed a film.
