This seems to be a case of once bitten, twice shy. Pearl V Puri, who plays the lead role in 'Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha', has had his fair share of link-ups and is now wary of mingling with co-stars. "When not shooting, he locks himself up in his room," informs a unit hand.
Pearl started his TV career with 'Badtameez Dil' opposite Asmita Sood and soon after, rumours about the two being more than friends started circulating in industry corridors. Before the show got over, the they allegedly broke up over a misunderstanding.
He was then roped in for 'Meri Saasu Maa', where he was linked to co-star Hiba Nawab. Later, the other cast members began complaining about Hiba and Pearl's romantic shenanigans and wasting everyone else's time. In fact, Archana Khurana, the negative lead of the show, had also slammed the couple publicly for indulging in PDA on set. When the criticism reached a crescendo, Pearl decided to quit the show.
With such experiences in the past, the actor now prefers to stay aloof on Naagarjuna sets and hardly interacts with co-stars, unit hands claim. When we reached out to Pearl, he admitted that he likes to keep to himself.
"However, it's not that I am disconnected with my team. I am just focusing more on my character since I play the title role. It is a huge responsibility, so I am just concentrating on work and ensuring that there is no distraction. It is not that I don't talk to them at all, but I prefer to stay in my room rather than chill with everyone."
