Months after the culmination of Indian Idol, a show that brought him immense acclaim, Mohammad Danish finds himself turning mentor to the children of the show, Superstar Singer 2. Following a string of performances across London, Canada and the USA, the singer returns home to join his Idol co-contestants in the latest reality show.

“Given that only recently we have encountered the kind of emotions that these contestants are facing, we are able to guide them on ways to enhance their performance,” says the singer, adding that he finds that his personal anecdotes offer the greatest sense of relief to agitated kids.
“I often tell them about how I tackled some situations on stage, or the technical details of how I approached a song. I reiterate that the focus should be on enjoying the song, and the moment, instead of approaching the act with anxiety.”
Audition rounds, he says, are often taxing for the children. “They don’t get proper sleep due to anxiety. But I tell them that it is important to play to their strengths in such moments.”
