Exclusive: Bride-to-be Sayantani Ghosh gives us a home tour

Sayantani Ghosh at home

In our special series Be My Guest, Tera Yaar Hoon Main actress Sayantani Ghosh takes us in her private space and gives us a peek into what went into making her beautiful, serene house.

What's your favourite spot in the house?
I love this corner near my window pane. I sit near the sofa and can see the skyline and tall buildings at a distance. When I picked my house I had the option of a garden view but somehow I always feel happy looking at the vast sky, it makes me light up from within. I love sitting there with a cup of coffee, enjoying the sunset.

How did you design this area?
I get my aesthetic sense from my mum, she had done a course in interior designing. I love decorating my house. I’m not very passionate about cooking but love doing interiors. When I walked into this space I knew this was it!

How did you choose a colour scheme?
I opted for a white brick wall with a sofa in front and I have some plants around it. Green elements always work and make you feel lively.

What's your favourite decor item?
Though I can’t choose but I have this Buddha painting that was gifted to me by my father’s friend along with a sculpture. Looking at Buddha gives me peace even if I’m worried.

What's an ideal day-off at home for you?
Ideally I just want to sleep, even if I’m not shooting there’s so much work to do. I am an early riser but I’d like to catch up on some sleep. I would call for an early breakfast-coffee and pancakes and sleep through the day, detox from my mobile after calling my parents to say I’m okay.

What's the most important aspect while deciding about a house?
I don’t like dimly lit or dark houses. There should be enough space when you open the window instead of people breathing down your neck. What instantly connects with me is a certain energy. If I get positive vibes from the house I would be interested.

If one ever visits your home, the one thing they will be treated to...
All my friends vouch for a lot of warmth. I love wooden, antique furniture. Though I like modern furniture too it cannot be out and out shiny and glazy. I like rustic, antique furniture more. I like to play with lights and love yellow lights.

The item one will always find in your pantry...
Diet soda though it’s a bad habit it’s my only addiction. Also lots of different types of coffees.

A series you're currently binging on when at home...
Currently I’m watching the latest season of Succession, I’m glued to it.

Your favourite gadgets at home...
I’m not a gadget person but I would pick my Marshall speakers. Music is therapeutic, could be peppy or soothing depending on my mood. A good music system always helps.
