Born and brought up in Mumbai, Hiten Tejwani known for his hit TV shows and films like Anwar and Kalank, is a proud Mumbaikar. We catch up with him for a fun rapid fire about the city.

Tell us about your alma mater.
I studied in St Francis D’Assisi High School (Borivali) and Jai Hind college (Churchgate), one of the best colleges where I got the opportunity to perform as well. And it’s an experience that I will never forget.
Vada Pav or Pav Bhaji?
Vada Pav, on the go food... plus it's yummy.
Rickshaw or Kaali Peeli?
Rickshaw till Bandra and Kaali Peeli after Bandra. Rickshaws are faster though.
Juhu beach or Bandra Bandstand?
Juhu beach, asli Mumbai.
Gateway of India or Marine Drive?
Gateway of India, there’s some attraction to it. Plus I used to stay in suburbs, so going to Gateway of India was always fun with photographers around, and you can get your pictures instantly.
Local train or BEST bus?
Train is always faster for but short distances. I have travelled in BEST bus too. Especially late evenings where I would sit by the window seat and doze off.
Tapri ki chai or Sol Kadi?
Tapri ki chai, sol kadi you get at restaurants.
Watching a play at Prithvi theatre or watching a movie at Gaiety Galaxy?
Play at Prithvi theatre, plus I’m happy when I perform there.
Mumbai during rains or Mumbai during winter?
Hardly any winters in Mumbai though, so rains... because I love the smell of mud after the first shower.
Favourite place in Mumbai?
National park (Gandhi ki Tekdi)
Favourite restaurant in the city?
Shiv Sagar. Their South Indian cuisine is very good.
The Mumbai lingo you use the most?
Kya bhai!
What do you love most about the city?
I love Mumbai in itself! The city never sleeps and is safe.
