Vada Pav or Pav Bhaji?
Pav Bhaji! I love both, but Pav Bhaji is my go to fast food. Since my childhood, I’ve been munching on both, but Pav Bhaji used to be that dish which one has on a special occasion, like getting good marks in exam or winning a dance competition.
Rickshaw or Kaali Peeli?
Rickshaw, because of the open-air feeling. It makes me feel more connected to the environment.
Juhu beach or Bandra Bandstand?
Both. Juhu beach, because I stay near it and I love beaches, and Bandra Bandstand because I keep going there for jogs. Love the atmosphere there, everyone’s working out or doing something that’s fitness related and it inspires me.
Gateway of India or Marine Drive?
Marine Drive. It has always been the go to place for my family and me especially for long drives within the city and then just whiling away time, sitting and chatting sipping on coffee.
Local train or BEST bus?
Train. I’ve spent a lot of time travelling in them during my college days. I had mixed experiences. Most of the times it used to be overcrowded and sometimes it use to be empty, and I used to stand next to the train doors well within safety limits, and enjoy the wind. I used to get lost looking outside. Fond memories.
Tapri ki chai or Sol Kadi?
Tapri ki chai, firstly cause I'm a chai lover, and secondly as I mentioned I love sitting near water bodies of our magnificent city and sipping on chai and coffee.
Favourite restaurant in the city?
There are a few, Amar Juice Centre & Fast Food for Pav Bhaji, Gaylords for North Indian, and Dum Pukht for Lucknowi food.
The Mumbai lingo you use the most?
I use to have a proper Mumbai lingo but have worked on it since 12/24 Karol Bagh days to speak in North Indian tone. Some words that I feel are very Bambaiyya is kanda instead of pyaaz, pani puri instead of gol gappe etc.
What do you love most about the city?
Its energetic feel and always awake and moving lifestyle.
Watching a play at Prithvi theatre or watching a movie at Gaiety Galaxy?
Gaiety galaxy, cause I’m a film fan more than a theatre enthusiast. I used to watch a lot of films in Gaiety Galaxy. Loved the upper stall and lower stall feel of watching a movie over there. Loved the vibe of everyone sitting in the movie hall and enjoying the film. I remember watching Lagaan with my school friends and the atmosphere was electric as if there was a real match going on.
Mumbai during rains or Mumbai during winter?
Mumbai during rains, I love the rainy season. I usually go out for jogs in the rains. I love the fragrance of the first rains. Mumbai is known for its rainy season. Love sitting in my balcony and sipping on some chai during rains. I know rains also cause a lot of water logging and traffic, but there are always somethings that you like and somethings that you dislike about something.
