Iqbal Khan erased his Instagram to mirror his character Dr Dev’s memory loss in Hui Gumm Yaadein. The digital blackout symbolised identity and emotional void, setting the tone for the Sony SAB medical drama about humanity beyond memory

Iqbal Khan’s sudden Instagram blackout at the start of the year was not a casual social media detox or a New Year reset. It was, in fact, a carefully thought-out extension of his return to television with Sony SAB’s upcoming medical drama Hui Gumm Yaadein – Ek Doctor, Do Zindagiyaan. The actor archived his entire digital footprint to emotionally align himself and his audience with the inner world of his character, Dr Dev.
In the show, Dr Dev suffers a life-altering setback when he loses eight years of his memory. He wakes up to a world that remembers him vividly, while he is left grappling with a fractured sense of self. His past relationships, professional achievements, and personal milestones remain intact for everyone else, but for him, they exist only as blank spaces. The Instagram reset, Khan explains, was designed to reflect this exact void.
