Disha Vakani, also known as Dayaben from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, wasn`t new to the acting world before joining the show. Born to renowned Gujarati theatre personality Bhim Vakani, she started acting at a tender age. She worked as a child theatre artist. After gaining experience from theatre, Disha entered the film industry where she played supporting roles in Hindi films like Devdas (2002) and Jodhaa Akbar (2008).
