Rinku Karmarkar&nbsp;has shaved off her head for her role in TV show 'Ye Vaada Raha'. She says it's her 'madness' as an actor that she has ended up letting go of her tresses.

Rinku, best known for her roles in TV shows like 'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha' and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii', was nervous before the makeover.
"Honestly if you ask me, I'm nervous but at the same time excited about the whole thing because I had only shaved my head as a child and post that, I've done it now," Rinku said in a statement.

"I wanted to do something different and challenging. I wanted to see how far I could go as an actress for the show. So I decided to go bald. The decision shocked everyone. After discussing it with the creative team, we successfully incorporated it in the sequence and the date was set for the feat. Now the challenge was to convince my husband Kiran, as he had specifically warned me 'not to go bald' when I had shared the idea with him," says Rinku. "So the moment I reached home after finalising the date, I told him, &lsquo;you also have gone bald at times in your shows when the character demanded it, and I have put up with that. So now it&rsquo;s your turn to accept this change in me&rsquo;,&rdquo; she adds with a smile.&nbsp;
"There is a madness in me as an actor and for the character that I am playing. That madness is not only present in Rinku or Taai from 'Yeh Vaada Raha' but I have seen it in the show's writer-producer Mahesh Pandey as well. I would like to thank my hairdresser for giving me different looks till date but now she will not have much to do after this," she added.

The new look had everyone staring in disbelief. And what does she think, we ask. "I think I look very cute without hair. The wig was anyway giving me scalp trouble, so I have a sense of relief now. To be honest, Kamla Tai is a huge character on television. So it&rsquo;s a conscious effort to keep doing something bigger and better to boost the ratings. The only time the change hit me was when my little son refused to hug me saying 'ladkiya bald nahi hoti'," she says. She adds, "I was fed up of wearing a wig as the pins that held it together would prick and hurt my scalp. So I told my unit that it would be better if I went bald. They conveyed it to the makers, who were shocked to hear this. When they asked me, I told them that taking such a step would enhance the character," she informs.
'Ye Vaada Raha' is aired on Zee TV.
The current track of the show will witness a surge of drama and emotions, and Rinku's character will decide to shave off her head to protest a development.
