Actress Rupali Ganguly has been in the news lately after her step daughter Esha Verma accused her of breaking up her parents` marriage. Now, according to a report in HT City, Rupali has hit back at her step daughter with a defamation notice to the tunes of Rs 50 crores. Through her social media nd interview, Esha has accused Rupali of having an extra marital affair with her father, Ashwin K Verma which led to her parents getting divorced. Esha did not mince words while accusing the `Anupamaa` actress of breaking her family apart. 

Talking to HT, Ganguly`s lawyer Sana Raees Khan said, "We have issued a defamation notice to her stepdaughter in response to her false and damaging statements as Rupali firmly stands against the use of defamatory tactics for Publicity and she has taken this legal step to protect her reputation from unfounded claims. These baseless allegations were clearly intended to harm Rupali Ganguly’s reputation and capitalize on her public standing. Such actions have not only caused emotional distress but have also unfairly tarnished her personal and professional integrity.”
