Actors and real-life couple Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary shot to fame with the television show Ramayan in 2008. The actors are still remembered for their portrayal of Ram and Sita in the hugely popular show. Their fans still associate them with the mythological show and the actors themselves feel a connection that has remained even after so many years.

Debina and Gurmeet, who are married and are parents to two daughters now, were at the Pran Prathishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Monday. The actors shared some moments from their time there on the day of Ram Mandir inauguration. The photos show the couple, wearing traditional clothes and with garlands around their necks, taking a boat ride on the river.

Posting the photos, they wrote about how the connection between them and Lord Ram is eternal. "The connection is eternal …. From learning from books to being blessed to be playing ( Ram- Sita ) on screen to visiting Ram JANMABHOOMI Ayodhya and today witnessing Pran pratishtha in our this lifetime .. truely truely blessed," their post read.

Gurmeet Choudhary became a household name with his portrayal of Lord Ram in the TV show Ramayan that aired in 2008. However, that is not the only connection that the actor has with the name Ram. The actor's father's name is Sitaram and his wife, actor Debina Bonnerjee's mum's name is Shabri. The village he was born in is Jairampur.

As the country geared up for the Ram Mandir inauguration on Monday in Ayodhya, the actor expressed his joy in seeing the city readying itself for the celebration. "I go for physical training at 4.30 am daily. On the way. I see so many posters of Ram ji. I think this is the kind of celebration that must have happened when he returned to Ayodhya back in the day. Aisi hi vibe rahi hogi. Jab main ghar se nikalta hoon aaj kal, log good morning ki jagah Ram Ram bolte hain," Gurmeet said in an interview with Hindustan Times.

Choudhary visited the Ram Mandir construction site two years ago and donated too. Ask him about the amount he donated, and the actor says, "Iss baare mein naa baat karein toh achcha hai. Some things should not be talked about as a lot of belief is attached. I feel lucky that I got to do that and also play Ram in the show when I was just 24."
