The GuideA man cleaning his ear with a safety match, air-conditioners cooling rundown homes in Old Delhi and kids posing as drummers next to a painted wall are among the 38 frames by Indian photographers that feature in a book, Swedish Innovations Indian Interpretations. To launch in the city on December 15, along with a photo-exhibition, it carries photographs that interpret a Swedish innovation each, be it an older version of an air-conditioner, a music streaming service or a safety match.

Fredrika Ornbrant, consul general of Sweden, says, “The idea is to encourage innovative spirit and exchange ideas for the creation of a successful future.”

The photos were selected from the submissions to the Embassy of Sweden during a photo competition. “The selection has been based solely on the quality and creativity of the photos. It is my hope that this book will serve as a source of inspiration for further creative exchange between Sweden and India,” adds Ornbrant.
