Tableaux, photo sequences, holographic stereograms, a folding sheet and a three-dimensional photo object will be a part of the project. There are 22 sequences of photo works by Hámos, which were created in Berlin, Budapest and New York.
The idea that the show explores is of cities as living organisms, reflecting social processes and interactions, economic relations, political conditions and private matters. In the city, human memories, desires and tragedies find expression in the form of designations and marks engraved on house walls and paving slabs. Yet, a lot is hidden under these layers that form the crux of Sample City.
Imaginary cities have been documented with photographs in urban areas. Instead of describing versions of cities such as Berlin, Budapest and New York, it delves on urban phenomena, universal qualities or the quintessence of urban life.
