Interested in the laws of the country but think the legal jargon is a dampener? As part of its Of Cause initiative, DraftCraft is organising a talk with an aim to create awareness on contemporary issues from a legal perspective. The talk will have a special focus on laws related to residing in co-operative housing societies, and the change in the real estate scenario in the city after Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) coming into force. Open to professionals, students of journalism, law, business, film-making, social work as well as vigilant citizens, the talk will be documented and the reports generated will be published across their portals.

As the ongoing exhibition, State of Housing – Aspirations, Imaginares and Realities in India, nears its conclusion, a series of talks, lectures and conferences will explore the theme to create a comprehensive picture of the situation. While today’s talk titled The Art of Living Together will be delivered by architecture theorist and urban researcher Kaiwan Mehta, Mustansir Dalvi’s lecture on Friday will provide a historical perspective on housing in the emerging nation state of India in 1947. The keynote lecture of the closing conference of the exhibition will be by Arjun Appadurai, where he will discuss the topic, Urban Housing and Rural Dwelling in India: The Roots of a Gap in Theory and Practice.
