If you thought it’s only about Batman versus the Joker, now’s a good time to flip through a Batman comic, and look at the rogues gallery of Gotham City. We ask Mumbai’s superhero fans to pick their favourite Batman villain

My favourite villain is Bane. I love his quote, “It doesn’t matter who we are. What matters is our plan!”

I think the next best villain after Joker is Two-Face. He pulls off playing the good and the evil guy, wonderfully.

My favourite villain has to be Ra’s al Ghul. He’s completely bad-a@#, and he thinks big. For him, it’s not about killing one or five people; he just looks at wiping out the entire human race. The sheer scale at which he operates is superb!

My favourite villain is Dr Harleen Frances Quinzel, who’s an accomplice and girlfriend of the Joker. She looks like a doll — all pink and light — but she can be dangerous and really show you how dark she can be!

I am a big fan of the comic book series, hence my favourite villain is Ra’s al Ghul. The movies hardly did justice to him. He is actually even more interesting than the Joker. I also have a large collection of Batman figurines in my collection of superheroes.

Priyam Chawla

My favourite Batman villain apart from the Joker would be Two-Face. I kind of feel bad for him because of what happened with him in his past (the accident, his abusive father) and what made him Two-Face. But his character also reflects life in its true form, the dichotomy of good and bad, two sides to everything and everyone. Also, Harvey Dent, somewhat, provides a contrast to Batman/Bruce Wayne duality.

Two-Face aka Harvey Dent will always be an interesting adversary to Batman. He had it all — good looks, a career, love, but he lost it all in a moment and turned into a man that became obsessed with duality to an extent where he couldn’t make a decision without the flip of a coin. He represents the struggle that we all (even bats!) face in our minds.

Raunaq Bajaj 21, Producer

The Riddler is one of my favourite villains from the huge universe that is Batman. He’s very underplayed as a character in mainstream media, apart from Jim Carrey’s portrayal of him (not the best) but in the comics he’s crazy, flamboyant with his crimes and loves giving a headache to everyone with his puzzles/riddles/ questions. He’s as much a showman as he is a mastermind; it’s what I enjoy the most.
