Katha Kosa, a story club, in collaboration with the Book Exchange Club of Mumbai has organised a session on science fiction at Kitab Khana this weekend. In this free-for-all session, participants (eight years and above), will have an opportunity read out stories penned by them.
Dhara Kothari, the founder of Katha Kosa, says, "I started this story club two years ago and now we are a team of two along with freelancers. We meet once a month with new themes like mythology, spirituality and folk literature."
She explained that though children were welcome to come and read out their stories, the age limit has been kept to eight because it gets unmanageable otherwise.
And the timing for the return of Star Wars, she says, was ideal for science fiction. T Jagath, CEO, Kitab Khana, says that it is an initiative they support wholeheartedly and hopes that new writers emerge from initiatives like this.
