If you are a fan of animated films, don't miss Anifest, an event that will screen nine entertaining Indian and international animation films. It is hosted by The Root Reel in collaboration with Indiearth On Screen and the Films Division. The films comprise the early works by Pramod Pati and Vijaya Mulay which have been culled from the archives of the Films Division and also includes popular, award-winning stories from Gitanjali Rao, Aditi Chitre, Céline Devaux, Abhishek Verma, Pradipta Kumar Santra and Rajesh Thakare among others.

What to expect
Watch out for Tree of Unity (1972), a classic animation by Pramod Pati on the theme of national integration broadcasted first in 1972. Ek Anek Aur Ekta (1974) is a short educational film that won the National Film Award for Best Educational Film.
Journey to Nagaland (2012) by Aditi Chitre is the story of a young girl who is led to a distant land by the force of her visions and her mother's sprit to discover the latter's roots and possibly her own.

Rasputine (2013) by Céline Devaux is an animated poem, originally written in French Alexandrine rhymes. The film tells the story of a wandering Siberian monk, Grigori Rasputin, who claimed to possess healing and divinatory skills — ultimately, placing him in a seat of great power in the capital of the Russian empire, St Petersburg. This film is a tragic-comical animation about his rise and fall.

Chasni (2014) by Abhishek Verma is an animated short film that deals with acid attacks. True Love Story (2014) by Gitanjali Rao offers a glimpse into the influence of Bollywood on real life in Mumbai told through animation.
