TED, a non-profit organisation devoted to the motto, “Ideas Worth Spreading,” has grown since the four-day conference in California, 30 years back. Through local and self-organised events, TEDx brings people together for a TED-like experience, which aims at sparking deep discussions on issues that are seldom approached.

This Saturday TEDxPrabhadevi will be one such platform for entrepreneurs who have interesting stories to share, lending direction to many and may be, help some to step towards their own ventures. For this chapter, Salonee Jaidhara, a graduate from Warwick University has come together with recent graduates from UCL, Cambridge University, Emory University, Carnegie Mellon, Parsons School of Design and Hamilton College, to stage the event.
Among the 11 distinguished speakers, eyes would be on 17-year-old Parth Mehta, a passionate advocate for Mathe-magic, Arundhati Subramanian, poet and recent winner of the Khushwant Singh Memorial Prize for Poetry and Renuka Ramnath, founder and CEO of Multiples Alternate Asset Management and pioneer of private equity in India.
The USP of the conference is to help today’s generation to digress from its pre-ordained path that has been etched for them by their ancestors and proceed with what they really want to. This conference is expected to help the participants go beyond their boundaries and be explorers, like each of the speakers.
As Jaidhara shared, “Through TEDxPrabhadevi, I want to inspire individuals to carve their own path and take the route less travelled. What are you passionate about? What gets you excited? Passion is the key to happiness.”
