While most of us now depend on the cellphone calendar to plan our week, having a physical version on your office desk or the study table has its own charm — especially if it tells a story through vivid pictures.

For its 2017 calendar, the Dr Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum in Byculla has brought into focus clay models of artisans depicting the processes behind the industrial art objects on display at the institution.

Each month depicts different crafts such as ivory inlay, wood carving, embroidery and koftagiri, accompanied with an image of some of the best objects from the museum’s collection as an inset.
