New in town: Pair a Dice Caf&eacute; This new cafe becomes home for the group, Mumbai Boardgamers (MG), every Sunday. &ldquo;We host meet-ups and people are welcome to join us. We usually spend about seven to eight hours there,&rdquo; says Karan Vashisht, one of the organisers of MG. &ldquo;The place has a nice vibe and their collection of games is good.&rdquo;&nbsp;

The month-old Pair a Dice Caf&eacute; has about 125 games &mdash; party gams, strategy, abstract, word building, team building, role-playing games. They have three dedicated game guides including the owner Garima Bagrecha, a passionate boardgamer.

Doolally Most gamers can play anywhere all they need is a large table, a space where they can spend hours without disturbance and enough people. One place that&rsquo;s opened up to gamers over the last year is Doolally. &ldquo;They have the space, they don&rsquo;t mind people coming in and sitting there for hours. they also have a good collection of games that have improved recently, enough to keep the slightly more experienced gamer happy,&rdquo; says Febin Mathew, engineer. Doolally&rsquo;s shelves have Settlers of Catan, Mono-deal, Code Names, Fletters, Monodeal, Backgammon, and Drunk Stupid Stoned.

Creeda Board Game Caf&eacute; This caf&eacute; was the first in the city to be exclusively dedicated to boardgames. They have about 200 games. &ldquo;They have a good games collection. Founder Riddhi Dalal is an avid gamer and joins us at times,&rdquo; says Vikas Munipalle, photographer and member of the boardgaming community, Table Top India (TTI). &ldquo;They have two packages. If you know how to play, you pick up a game and start playing. If you don&rsquo;t, they have a game guru that comes and teaches you, for an extra fee,&rdquo; he says, adding that TTI has organised events at the caf&eacute; (in pic).

The XVII Tea Room &ldquo;Five years ago, we used to head here to play,&rdquo; says Ameya Sarda, screenwriter, teacher and avid boardgamer. &ldquo;Back then there was no other place in Bandra to go and play at.&rdquo; Although the place doesn&rsquo;t stock games, Sarda says they&rsquo;ve been supportive of people who bring their own games. &ldquo;They give us the basement space to play. And they don&rsquo;t mind the noise as long as it is controlled.&rdquo;
