According to the National Crime Record Bureau’s (NCRB) latest report on ‘Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India – 2020’, the number of road accidents decreased from 1,54,732 in 2019 to 1,33,201 in 2020. The dip was seen after a continuous surge in the number of road accidents from 2017 to 2019. The data suggests a similar trend in the number of railway accidents.
