There is perhaps no better feeling for a band than to have a cheering crowd look up to you, while you blast away your brand of music to them, and drown in a world full of rhythm. Experiencing such a mood is very natural for Gangtok-based Girish and The Chronicles, who are all set to perform at the Hard Rock Cafe, today. Known for their sound of overdriven guitars and drums, the band is here to release their debut album, Back to Earth, on Universal Music.

The album, a compilation of 11 tracks, reminds one of Rock ‘N’ Roll legends like Steven Tyler and Bruce Dickinson. Girish Pradhan, the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist, says that the album, Back To Earth, is a tribute to all the bands that they grew up listening to. “Our main influence is the sounds of the ’70s, the overdriven guitars, the love for music and the immense energy,” he says.
The story of Girish and The Chronicles started way back in 2009, when Pradhan founded the band in Gangtok, Sikkim. Over the years, the band performed in several music festivals including The Hornbill Festival and Gangtok Pub Fest, where they played alongside legends such as Parikrama, Mantra and Route 66.
