India Couture Week's 16th edition is dishing the season's modernistic designs at Delhi's Taj Palace. Ace deisgners like Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna, Anamika Khanna, Gaurav Gupta, Rimzim Dadu, Ritu Kumar and many more iconic names lit the show with their trendsetting designs. The Fashion Design Council of India’s pioneer design show runs from July 25 to August 2. For those who eat, breathe and live fashion, the live shows are being streamed online on their official website.

Fashion maestro Tarun Tahiliani stole the show with his futuristic vision brought to life under his new label "For Eternity" that showcases modern wedding designer wear for both men and women. “We live in a world where everything happens a million frames a second, and our connection with time-honored traditions ebbs and flows, but it is often lost. That connection beckons time and again yet something beautiful happens when we lean into the voice of tradition—it anchors us in meaning” says Tarun Tahiliani.

With "For Eternity," Tarun Tahiliani pays homage to the timeless allure of traditional craftsmanship and art, weaving a tapestry of innovative and covetable explorations in Chikankari, Kasheedakari, Byzantine art, Egyptian Jaalis, and Persian motifs. The collection seamlessly blends the unconscious part of Indian style with modern reflections, elevating Indian savoir-faire through impeccable tailoring, sculptured fits, refreshed draping styles, and a pale spectrum of colors like the patina of a dust storm or the palest colors of the first bloom. As the new season rolls in, Tarun Tahiliani is essaying a renewed vision through couture that echoes the true essence of the India Modern Woman and The New Man.

Bridal Heritage (Bridalwear):

The "For Eternity" collection draws inspiration from the rich heritage of India, Egypt, and Persia, where ancient Mughal and Egyptian jaali motifs converge with Mumbai's Art Deco trellises. Hand-embroidered panels, exquisite hand-painted prints, and meticulous stitches create a poetic tapestry that unfolds through draped lehengas, kurtas, shararas, and sarees, exuding fluidity, feminine elegance, and a touch of festive magic. With over 90 bespoke looks, including standout pieces like the green onyx and real freshwater pearl blouse, each bride and groom is invited to discover their unique expression within this diverse spectrum of colors, crafts, and silhouettes.

Bespoke Couture (Womenswear):

The world of "For Eternity" presents a harmonious fusion of time-honored traditions and the India Modern narrative. Each couture creation initiates a brave dialogue between the voice of tradition and the wearer, where lightness finds its home in pure georgettes, silks, organzas, tulles, and brocades. The canvas becomes a playground for fusion-inspired silhouettes, ranging from lehengas and heavily embellished shararas to stylish gilets, statement jackets, flowy concept saris, structured drapes, and fusion-style jumpsuits. With an innovative mix of elements, the collection elevates traditional craftsmanship to contemporary elegance, resonating with modern women seeking timeless expressions.

The New Man (Menswear): Unveiling 'The New Man' in "For Eternity," Tarun Tahiliani introduces a liberating sense of ease, sexiness, and flair through garments tailored to fit individual style and body. Inspired by the dramatic flair of the '90s, this menswear line redefines time-honored craftsmanship with an avant-garde twist, infusing innovative Chikankari, Persian motifs, artful Kashidakaari, and Egyptian Door influences.

Embracing draped silhouettes, dhotis take center stage as the epitome of cool, while kurtas are reimagined for a sense of ease and effortless style. The collection features structured fits, buttoned shirts, cummerbunds reimagined as belts, plunging cowl necklines, and open jackets, replacing conventional styles with a fusion of masculine flair, innovative tailoring, and sartorial drama. Tarun Tahiliani's vision celebrates the elegance of traditional menswear while presenting a distinctly flamboyant new voice in the ever-evolving dialogue of men's fashion in India

In "For Eternity," Tarun Tahiliani showcases thoughtfully-handcrafted ensembles that exude weightlessness and agelessness, redefining unique Bridalwear, Couture, and Luxe Pret for the brave new world. Each creation is an heirloom to be cherished and relished through generations, embodying the eternal essence of tradition and contemporary craftsmanship.

“It’s time to return to the only star that should be on the ramp, and that is the clothes” -Tarun Tahiliani.
