Dear Diana,
I recently got back from a vacation in Ooty where I met an absolutely wonderful guy. We were staying at the same hotel. We bumped into each other at the breakfast buffet and got talking. He is also from Mumbai. We also did a lot of sightseeing together. We were both holidaying with our respective bunch of friends. After spending a week with him, I felt he is the one for me. He gave me his cell number and said he would call. I also have his email ID. I miss him terribly. It is three weeks now since we are back in Mumbai, but he has not called me or sent me a mail. Should I call him or be more patient? Every time the phone rings, I hope it is him. He seemed interested in me and was caring towards me. I can’t wait to meet him. What should I do? Shall I send him an email and hope for a reply?

Dear Sameera,
For the time being, be patient and wait for another week. If he was really interested in you, he would have called you by now. Perhaps he is tied up with something and has no time to call you. Or may be he has just forgotten about you. He may have considered you just as a holiday acquaintance. Don’t call him as it appear sound desperate. You may mail him a few holiday snapshots of the hotel and the sightseeing trips. You can just put in a few lines saying how you are remembering the good times you had during the holiday. If he does not reply, get the hint and move on. If he is interested in you, he will certainly reply to your mail. If you still pine for him after a week or so has passed, give him a call — you will get to know from his tone if he is interested in you or not. So for now, stop building the mental image of future together with him. Remember you do not know his real side. What you saw was a guy in holiday spirit. Act sensibly and don’t get too emotional.
