Dear Diana,
I am 23 and I’m fed up of my life. My mom and boyfriend keep venting their anger on me. Even after being nice to them, they always hurt me with their words and action. I’m tired of being the scapegoat for them. I feel at least my boyfriend should support me, but he seldom does. He always finds a reason to be angry with me. I really hope he understands what it means to go through their humiliation.

Dear Urvashi,
I can understand your predicament as everyone around is blaming you for everything — whether it is your fault or not. You seem to lack self-confidence and low self-esteem. People tend to pick on those who have no confidence, because they will not retaliate. You deserve to be treated with respect. Next time say how you feel when your mom or boyfriend berate you. All this while you are taking it lying down so they continue to abuse you. Stop being the doormat and speak up.
Dear Diana,
I'm 21, quiet and shy. However, I recently saw a girl ar the Metro station platform and am smitten by her. She looks older than me and I think I’m falling in love with her. In fact, the highlight of my day is seeking her
and trying to get a glance of her if I’m lucky. I like her very much. My problem is I don’t have the confidence to go
ahead and introduce myself. What if she’s married? We are always at the station at the same time.

Dear Amar,
You don’t know her, so you are assuming things. Next time smile at her. If she responds, after a few days start talking to her. Get to know her first — try sitting next to her in the train. Be cordial and don’t behave like a stalker or you will be in big trouble.
