Dear Diana,
I'm 28. I recently broke off with my boyfriend of four years. I learnt that he was having a fling with my sister who is 25. I didn't have a clue what was going on behind my back. As soon as I came to know — my sister confessed before he was forced to — I broke up with him. Now I'm in a dilemma because it looks like my sister and he want to take their relationship to the next level. What do I do?

Dear Arima,
You are indeed caught in a predicament. On the one side is your sister and the other side your ex-flame. You don't want to see him ever again, but if your sister is adamant and wants to marry him, he will soon be family. If you oppose the match, your sister will hate you. If you agree to it, you will have to do so with a heavy heart and then for the rest of your life stay aloof from them, but be social when they are around. There are only two ways out for you. If your sister's happiness matters, go for the former. If you are prepared to battle it out, pick the second option.
Dear Diana,
My girlfriend is obsessed with her looks. She keeps doing stuff to be better groomed and appear thin. I tell her I love the way she looks. She says she wants to lose even more weight, but I've told her she doesn't need to. I don't know what to do anymore. She spends thousands every month on her grooming and makes me pay for all her beauty treatments. I don't know how I can afford such a high maintenance woman.

Dear Renjin,
Instead of fighting a daily battle with her, just let her be for a while. As she knows you are paying her bills, she is going overboard. Tell her you cannot splurge on such stuff and give her a budget for such treatments. When she has to shell out herself, I am sure she will go slow.
