Every year the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) takes the center stage for technology enthusiasts around the world. Companies from various industries use the platform to showcase what they are working on in their respective fields and how will the future of a specific industry look and feel like. It becomes an ideal event where even car manufacturers can flaunt their development in the field of autonomous, electric and connected vehicles which will become the blueprint for the future of transportation industry.
South Korean auto giant Hyundai Motor has chosen the 2017 CES to showcase its vision for future mobility, from January 5-8, 2017. The company says that it is gearing up to present a range of innovative technologies that hover around intelligent autonomous driving and advanced, hyper-connectivity solutions. To demonstrate the same, autonomous Ioniq models will run on test routes in and around CES premises. Although people are not allowed to be inside the vehicle, they can, however, experience a driver-less journey via immersive virtual reality simulators.
Hyundai Motor will also present an interactive experience to showcase how its hyper-connected car tech, which was developed in collaboration with IT giant Cisco, will enrich our future of transportation by making lifestyles even more hassle-free. The 'Mobility Vision' concept will highlight how 'Smart House' and 'Connected Car' techs will join the lines between mobility, and living and working spaces.
That's not all as the car firm will also present its 'Healthcare Cockpit' technology, which connects the car and the passenger to increase productivity or relaxation while travelling. This sounds similar to what Volvo and Microsoft are collectively developing to connect Microsoft Exchange with the on-board computer of the car. This, Volvo says, will help increase the productivity on the move, without any distractions. To cater to its commitment towards corporate social responsibilities (CSR) across the world, Hyundai will also showcase advanced wearable exoskeletons, which will offer freedom of mobility to customers who require physical support.
The 2017 CES will be held over six days, from January 3-8, 2017, in Las Vegas, USA. Just like Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz will also be present to showcase its CASE (Connected Autonomous Shared and Electric Drive) tech from January 5-8.
