The Enlighten Film Society is hosting the Agnes Varda Film Festival where film buffs can watch three innovative films by the director who is called the 'Grandmother of the French New Wave'.
Varda was a force to reckon with in art cinema, with many of her films as political and feminist statements; she used a radical objectivity to create unforgettable characters. At 12 pm, watch Cleo, a real-time portrait of a singer set adrift in Paris as she awaits test results of a biopsy.

Vagabond, at 2 pm, focuses on the difficulties of a female drifter who enjoys solitude and no-strings attached relationships. The Beaches of Agnes at 4 pm explores Varda’s memories, mostly chronologically, with photographs, film clips, interviews, re-enactments and playful contemporary scenes of her narrating her story.
On December 23, 12 pm onwards
At Russian Centre, Peddar Road.
