If you happen to visit the Kiwi Kiss and the Jus Booster outlet in Koramangala's 8th block, you might be in for a surprise. For between sips of health juices and spoonful of creamy, frozen yoghurt, you can now also snack on Turkish style Doner Kababs, hot gravies and Falafel paired with a variety of Mediterranean dips.



iKabab, the franchise's third instalment after Jus Booster and Kiwi Kiss, is all about Turkish fast food. The menu is short and sweet and offers two main dishes: Doner Kababs which you can build with a variety of fillings and an Iskandar Kabab, a meat served on a bed of herbed rice along with short eats like Shammi Kabab, Falafel, fries and pickled vegetables among others.

iKabab is just an extension of its juice and frozen yoghurt siblings so don't expect anything fancy in the d ufffdcor. A couple of red, brown and white themed chairs and tables are what comprises the d ufffdcor here.

We started off our meal with the most interesting part of the menu, The Doner Kabab (R 109) in the Classic Chicken and the Shammi Kabab version. While we paired the Shammi Kabab with a Jalapeno Hummus, the Chicken came tossed up with a sweet and spicy pomegranate relish. We also chose fries and pickled vegetables as accompaniments. Both versions came stuffed into freshly baked pita pockets. The Shammi Kabab was bits of shredded lamb scraped off the rotating roasting skewer that is typical of a Doner Kabab set up and was tossed up with loads of shredded cabbage, onion and Jalapeno Hummus, tasted tangy and spicy and paired with the almost sweet pickled chillies and other vegetables tasted delish. We found the classic chicken version a bit too sweet for our taste and the tahini sauce accompanying it a bit of an overload. Even the salty friedscould not salvage the over addition of the tahini. We also sipped on some Cranberry juice (R 50) available as part of the menu, which is freshly made from the Jus Booster counter.

The Falafel (R 69) platter came accompanied by a Lemon Garlic Hummus. The falafel, deep fried balls of spicy chickpea came with some heat and a hint of garlic. The hummus toned down the heat of the falafel with its lime infused garlic flavour.

The Iskandar Kabab (R 99), the only main dish here is available in a chicken or a paneer version. We chose the chicken version which were chunks of meat dressed in a hot Turkish gravy and arrived on a bed of fresh dill rice and pickled vegetables. This dish was the highlight of the meal with the tangy yet spicy chicken bits coming together perfectly with the aromatic dill rice. The fragrant rice had soaked up the hot flavours of the gravy. iKabab is ideal for those looking for a quick and healthy bite on the go and a different kind of flavour perked up by interesting dips and sauces.u00a0u00a0u00a0
